Last Monday, a drive-by shooting was reported in residential area of Lexington. Several shots were fired into an unoccupied vehicle. Lexington Police Department later located the suspect vehicle, still running, in another part of Lexington but, the suspect could not be located. Two days later a man walked into the Cozad Police Department and made statements about the shooting in Lexington to Cozad officers.
According to an arrest affidavit, a pat search of 29-year-old Rogue Gonzalez-Segura, yielded a 9mm handgun. The handgun is believed to be the same one used in the Lexington shooting and the Cozad man was placed under arrest. Gonzalez-Segura has been charged with Possession of a Defaced Firearm and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. His bond was set at 10% of $20,000 and is scheduled for hearing in Dawson County Court on November 29, 2018 at 8:30am.
Gonzalez-Segura was also arrested by Lexington Police on two charges related to the shooting, including Criminal Mischief and Discharge of a Firearm in the area of an Occupied Dwelling. Formal charges had not been filed as of Monday afternoon.
