Bancroft-Rosalie School has a couple of Christmas Concerts coming up this week. Band Director Viktor Sundleaf. “With Tuesday being our 7-12 Christmas Concert and then Thursdsay is our Elementary Christmas Concert.”

Sundleaf says band, choir, and soloists will perform Tuesday night, and then preschool through 5th and 6th grade will sing with 5th and 6th grade band performing Thursday night.

Both concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. at the school.

Sundleaf says the 7-12 choir will perform selections tied to Santa Claus and Christmas Tree. “The first one being a different arrangement of Oh Christmas Tree. It’s called We’re Gonna Decorate the Christmas Tree. It starts off with the song you know, and then goes into kind of a jazzy Doo-wop part takling about decorating the Christmas Tree. Then we’re going to sing a song called Yes, Virginia There’s a Santa Claus, which is based off a letter from the early 1900’s that she was 9 or 10 years old at the time, wrote to the New York Times I believe asking if Santa Claus was real. And so the editor of the paper responded to her. And so this song is about her letter and the response that she got in the paper asking if there’s a Santa Claus.”

Sundleaf says the 7-12 choir will also perform “On this Winter’s Night,” an arrangement of a Christmas Song by Lady Antebellum.

Sundleaf adds the 7-12 band will perform “Merry Christmas Machine,” “Sleigh Ride” from Leroy Anderson, and “Midnight Carols.”

Senior Olivia Osborne will also sing a solo, according to Sundleaf.
