(Audio) “Chat with the Chancellor”, with UNK Chancellor, Doug Kristensen – November 10, 2018

Brandon Benitz continues his “Chat with the Chancellor” series here in the Fall 2018 semester.  This week, he’s once again joined by Doug Kristensen, the Chancellor of the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Last month, Dr. Bounds talked about the research done by the campuses across the University of Nebraska system. This week, Chancellor Kristensen explains the emphasis that UNK places on Undergraduate Research, which culminated recently with the “17th Annual Fall Student Research Symposium”; after a 24-year career with the Kearney Police Department, former sergeant Kyle Harshbarger, turned in his badge a few months ago to accept a full-time lecturer position with UNK, demonstrating again just one of the many examples that UNK has across campus of Faculty members bringing long-time, real-world experience into their classroom; within the few weeks, at least 4 Greek-letter organizations have conducted significant fundraisers – 2 of which, he was involved in, demonstrating just 4 examples of the many local, and national, causes that UNK Greek Life Students support in so many ways.
