During today’s ground-breaking ceremony at Neligh Park for the West Point trail, the Trails and Pathway Committee announced donations now total $600-thousand for the $1.3-million project.

Committee member Terry Nelson says it shows the community’s passionate  support for the project.

The committee is holding a Pave the Path family walk tomorrow morning with registration at 8 am at the high school parking lot. They’ll be revealing donors’ names and making more announcements about the project.

There will be breakfast burritos and t-shirts for participants and inflatables for the kids.

In the event of rain, it may be moved to the Nielsen Center under the portico.  Check the committee’s Facebook page and 107.9 the Bull for updates.
