(AUDIO) “Sounds of the Season” being held at Pender Public Schools this weekend

Pender Public Schools is putting on a Music Department Fundraiser called “Sounds of the Season” Sunday night. Music Boosters President Teri Lamplot says “Text Me Merry Christmas” and “Zatchu Santa Claus” will be performed.

“The first act that we have is “Text Me Merry Christmas.” It’s kind of a comedy and it’s a duet. And it kind of is a spoof on the way we communicate these days with texting rather than calling and seeing each other with modern technology. Then we have the Junior High Show Choir will be performing “Zatchu Santa Claus,” and they have a dance routine with that.”

Lamplot adds there will be a guitar trio with 3 Pender guitar students, “Where Are You Christmas” with the Elementary Honor Choir, “All I Want for Christmas is You”, a tap dancer performing the old Dolly Parton song “Hard Candy Christmas,” “Little Drummer Boy,” and “Joyful Joyful,” an act from Sister Act 2.

The Jazz Band ends the night.

Lamplot has more details.

“This event will be held at the Heese Event Center, which is in the Pender Public School Building. The event will start on Sunday, December 10th. Doors open at 5:15. The meal will be served at 6:00 p.m., and the show will follow. Tickets are available by calling the Pender High School Office, and Lisa Johnson is the School Secretary. She is taking care of the tickets for us. And that number is 402-385-3244.”

Tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for children 10 and under.

Lamplot says tickets should be bought by the end of the school day Friday.
