West Point Optimist Club’s Annual Clothing Drive will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at the Nielsen Center in West Point. Program Director Karen Baumert says clothes can be dropped off all day on Wednesday and part of the day on Thursday. “We have drop off clothing dates of November 7th, Wednesday, November 7th from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and Thursday you can continue to drop off from 8:00 til noon.”

Baumert says people in need can stop in between noon and 5:00 p.m. on Thursday to adopt clothes.

Clothes needed include clothes and shoes for all seasons and ages as well as winter gear, blankets, and sheets.

Clean clothes and clothes in good condition are requested.

Baumert adds there’s a very special need for children’s clothing.

Volunteers are welcome. “Well certainly. And we welcome volunteers to come on Wednesday or Thursday. Any of those hours that are listed from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. also on Thursday,” Baumert said.

Baumert adds any left over clothing will be given to local charities.
