The city of Scottsbluff is considering assisting the Mitchell Health Care Center with L.B. 840 funds to help the facility pay off the last portion of bonds used to make renovations.
Scottsbluff City Manager Nathan Johnson says they have yet to formally receive an application from the Health Care Center, but they are a qualifying business and an offer of assistance has been made. Scottsbluff’s L.B. 840 Committee will review any application received and then make a recommendation to the council.
City Administrator Jeff Sprock says Michell will also provide L.B. 840 assistance under the proposal, which would help pay for management at the Health Care Center so they have money to pay off the bonds. The Mitchell council last week approved refinancing the Health Care Center bonds so the $360,000 left on the bonds can be payed in the next five years rather than two.
