A 31-year-old Scottsbluff man will be sentenced to prison next month for stealing multiple firearms from a local garage.

Juan Godinez has agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors, and will plead guilty or no contest to a charge of burglary and an attempted charge of Felon in Possession of a firearm.

In exchange for his plea, prosecutors will drop 12 counts of possession of a stolen firearm and the case will not go to trial.

Godinez was arrested back in February following an investigation by Scottsbluff Police.

He faces a prison ranging from 1 to 50 years on the firearm charge, and up to 20 years on the burglary charge when he is sentenced on June 22nd.
