A convicted felon in Chadron has been arrested on weapons charges and counts related to an alleged domestic assault.
Police Chief Tim Lordino says earlier this month officers were contacted by a victim of the alleged assault that had occurred on April 30th. After an investigation that took several days and involved multiple interviews, Police conducted a search at 428 Mears Street and arrested 28 year old Samuel Mullins.
During the search police seized a machete with an 18″ blade that Mullins could not legally possess, several journals and a cellphone. Mullins was taken into custody for three felonies….strangulation, terroristic threats and possession of a deadly weapon by a a felon as well as misdemeanor domestic assault.
Mullins was transported to the Dawes County Jail and his bound was set at 10% of $50,000.00.
