The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry’s annual Children’s Panhandle Dental Day is expected to serve 225 needy children in three panhandle communities.

All of the children have been pre-screened for this event, and volunteers at dental offices in Sidney, Alliance and Gordon will provide space and support to the 40 faculty, students and residents from the UNMC College of Dentistry who will provide dental care, including pulpectomies, extractions, cleanings, sealants and fillings, as well as oral hygiene education.

The event is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Dental offices in Alliance, Gordon and Sidney will play host, as well as Box Butte General Hospital providing surgical space for those cases needing hospital support.
