A 25-year-old Colorado man is facing a variety of charges stemming from a Saturday night pursuit in Scottsbluff.

Court records show that Jerry Ybarra was arrested shortly before midnight following the high speed chase. The arresting officer says Ybarra had non-functioning brake lights, and pulled into the WTT parking lot for a traffic stop.

When the officer got out of the vehicle, Ybarra sped off eastbound on to the South Beltline Highway. He reportedly ran a red light at Beltline and Broadway, with speeds reaching 100 miles per hour.

When the officer caught up with the car, Ybarra was trying to enter a building on 19th Avenue. Police made entry into the building, and Ybarra said he fled because he thought he had felony warrants out of Colorado.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with: Flight to Avoid Arrest, Willful Reckless Driving, Criminal Trespass, Obstruction, No Operator’s License.
