Court appearance delayed for Goshen County murder suspect

Court appearance delayed for Goshen County murder suspect

The Goshen County Attorney’s office says a scheduled Monday court appearance for first degree murder suspect Jamie Snyder has been suspended after a defense  order for a competency evaluation.

The 29 year old Ft. Laramie man had been scheduled for his first opportunity to have a preliminary hearing in the case at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Snyder is accused in the death of 32 year old Wade Erschabek of Guernsey. Court documents say the fatal stabbing took place at a Ft. Laramie residence after Snyder thought the victim was the person responsible for breaking into his home and stealing a title for his older model pickup. Snyder claims he stabbed Erschabek in self defense.

Snyder is being held without bond.
