December pursuit suspect sentenced to prison

December pursuit suspect sentenced to prison

The man who led authorities on a 100 mile per hour chase throughout western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming in mid December has been sentenced to a total of three years in prison.

24-year-old Frederick Ramirez was convicted earlier this year of charges of felony fleeing to avoid arrest and possession of methamphetamine.

District Judge Leo Dobrovolny sentenced Ramirez to two years on the fleeing charge and  one year on the meth charges; those sentences will run consecutively. Ramirez will also have to undergo two years of post release supervision, and two years of license revocation.

Ramirez is also in the midst of serving a one year jail sentence for previous convictions of assault, theft and driving under suspension that were unrelated to the pursuit.
