Drone camp to be held at Northeast’s South Sioux City Campus next week

The Northeast Community College Extended Campus in South Sioux City will host a drone camp for youth MondayFriday, July 9-13. The camp is a hands-on learning, innovation, and adventure. Participants will build their own drone to keep, learn how to fly it, and earn their Junior Pilot Wings at this one-of-a-kind event.

The camp will provide wonderful visuals and opportunities to speak with camp leaders and participants.

The camp will be completed in half-day sessions with a 30-student limit in each session. Both sessions are FULL. The morning session, for youth ages 9-11, will be held from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. The afternoon session, for youth ages 9-14, will be held from 1-5 p.m.

On Friday, each camp session will have a “Pinning Ceremony,” where the participants will be presented their Junior Pilot Wings. The first will be at 11:30 a.m., and the second at 4:30 p.m., on Friday, July 13.

The Extended Campus is located at 1001 College Way in South Sioux City, next to Walmart.
