* At 920 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated rain across much of the
warned area. This rain is falling on top of soil that is already
saturated and in areas where flooding is already occurring. Around
half an inch ot an inch of rain is possible overnight, with some
areas possibly seeing a bit more than that. Flooding may be worse
if ice jams occur. Law enforcement has reported many significant
flooding issues across northeast Nebraska.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include…
Norfolk, Columbus, Wayne, Madison, Pierce, Albion, Neligh,
Stanton, Hartington, Wakefield, Plainview, Battle Creek, Wisner,
Creighton, Bloomfield, Pender, Randolph, Emerson and Osmond.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Southeastern Colfax County in northeastern Nebraska…
Western Dodge County in east central Nebraska…

* Until 1115 PM CDT.

* At 714 PM CDT, emergency management reported a levee which is
likely to be overtopped or may become compromised along the Shell
Creek, which begins just passed the US 30 and NE 15 interchange
and extends towards the confluence of the Shell Creek and the
Platte River. Residents in the vicinity of the levee are urged to
evacuate and seek higher ground while there is still time.

Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for locations between Schulyer
and Rogers. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER
GROUND NOW!

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Schuyler and Rogers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

* Flash Flood Warning for…
West central Platte County in northeastern Nebraska…
Southern Boone County in northeastern Nebraska…

* Until 1215 AM CDT.

* At 616 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported ongoing extensive
flooding of the Cedar River and Beaver Creek. Many roads have been
closed throughout the area, and travel is not advised. Additional
rainfall moving through the area, will only exacerbate current
problems.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
St. Edward, Cedar Rapids and The Highway 14 And 56 Junction.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
