Gering council approves Planned Townhome Development

Gering council approves Planned Townhome Development

The Gering city council Monday evening approved  a Planned Townhouse Development on approximately 3.6 acres south of Dome Rock Manor north of K street between 12th and 13th Streets.

City Planner Annie Folck says a Special Planned Development had been approved previously for the project. But when owner Cinda Munoz  indicated she wanted to build townhomes that could be sold separately, the PTD  designation was required.

Munoz  says she is hoping to get the project started yet this year, and is planning to build ten townhomes priced around $165,000,  which she believes there is a good market for.

The townhomes would be single family units and would be in keeping with the character of the parent zone of Residential Medium Density. Munoz says the council approval now allows  for configuration of the lot layouts. Munoz said a possible plan might have four units facing K Street, and three each facing 12th and J Streets.
