Governor Pete Ricketts and First Lady Susanne Shore this week announced details of the 2019 Governor’s Inaugural Ball, which will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.
The theme for the Inaugural Ball is “A Celebration.”
“For me, there is no higher honor or better job than leading our great state,” said Governor Ricketts. “From Omaha to Scottsbluff, Nebraskans are hard at work each day making a growing, more prosperous state a reality. Helping to connect Nebraskans to great job opportunities, running government more like a business, cutting red tape, cutting taxes, reducing the size of government, and promoting Nebraska nationally and internationally, together we are getting the job done.
“As proud as I am of what we have achieved, I know we are just getting started Susanne and I hope as many Nebraskans as possible will join us for the celebration.”
First Lady Shore said, “Serving as Nebraska’s First Lady has been a true privilege, and I want to thank Nebraskans for their support of Pete and our family. It has been an incredible ride, and I’m excited to see what the next four years hold.
“Last year we commemorated Nebraska’s sesquicentennial or 150 years of statehood. A theme focused on celebration seemed like a great way to continue the unifying spirit of that event as this is yet another moment in time to celebrate all that makes Nebraska such an amazing state.”
Shore said official invitations will begin appearing in mailboxes this week, but stressed that all Nebraskans are invited to attend. “This is a celebration for anyone who wants to join in the fun,” she said.
