Governor Pete Ricketts today was at four Nebraska communities hosting ceremonial signings of the state’s budget, emphasizing that it includes new pro-life language that prevents health clinics from receiving Title X federal funding if they perform, counsel in favor of or refer patients to abortion services.

The panhandle ceremony occurred in the basement of the Gering Public Library, where Ricketts said the pro-life budget is just one of the pro-life bills the legislature has passed recently. Ricketts mentioned bills that allow for pro-life license plates,  that provide state donated  maternity leave and legislation that provides certificates for mothers who had miscarriages to help them grieve

The governor was joined today by Senator John Stinner of Gering Chair of the Appropriations Committee and St. Agnes Church pro-life coordinators Diana Rohrick and Sherry Weddell.
