Hershey School lockdown lifted

Juvenile with Toy Gun Causes School Lockdown

Around 3:45 pm, Deputies received a call of a young male that pulled a pistol out of a back pack outside the Hershey School. As school had been dismissed and the buses had left the building, the school was locked down to protect the remaining students.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area and immediately apprehended the young male and detained other students with him. It was found the gun was an “Air Soft Gun a toy” that was a realistic replica of a pistol. Once the area was deemed safe the school was taken out of lockdown.

Deputies are currently investigating the incident and charges may be pending.
