LifeNet Helicopter Responds To Accident Near Pilger

LifeNet Helicopter Responds To Accident Near Pilger

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Monday night the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a one vehicle accident that sent a rural Pilger woman to a Sioux City, Iowa hospital for treatment of possible head injuries.

The accident occurred on Hwy 275 about two miles West of Pilger, when an eastbound SUV driven by Amanda Beerbohm, 23, left the roadway crossing the westbound lane into the ditch on the north side of the highway where she continued in the ditch and crossed over 572nd Avenue rolling at least once before coming to rest in a cornfield about 100 yards off the roadway.

Beerbohm was extricated from the wreckage by Pilger Fire and Rescue and then transported from the scene by LifeNet medical helicopter to Sioux City.  It was unclear if seat belts were in use and the highway was blocked for about 20 minutes for the helicopter landing zone.
