Light turnout at local polling places

Light turnout at local polling places

The turnout at Scotts Bluff County election polling places is light this morning despite  key  County Commissioner and County Clerk races on the Republican ballot.

Sandra Gutwein voted at the WNCC polling place and noted some key local races helped entice her to vote.

Gutwein said she voted “because it is my right to vote and I know there are County Commissioners and other people I need to vote for.  It is just my right to vote and I exercised that right. ”

Fewer people casting early ballots before the election apparently reflected what will be a smaller turnout in today’s primary.

Some voters at WNCC have been confused on where to vote, and they need to go to the east side of the main college building and enter through doors where you are directed by signs.

Election Commissioner and County Clerk Vera Dulaney says she should have returns from the early voting shortly after the polls close at 7 p.m.
