Milligan man arrested after vandalizing pop machine

HEBRON – A Milligan man was jailed Tuesday for possessing drugs. At approximately 9:00 p.m. the Thayer County Sheriff’s Office received a report advising a subject was observed vandalizing a pop machine in Alexandria. The reporting party advised the subject responsible was leaving the area in a red Ford Explorer.

Deputies responded to the area and while en route observed a vehicle matching the description. With the assistance of a Nebraska State Trooper the vehicle was stopped near the junction of Hwy 81 and Hwy 136 or just south of Hebron. The driver, Daniel Graham, 38, of Milligan and two female passengers were contacted. A cutting torch was located in the rear of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle also produced suspected drugs and paraphernalia. The suspects were interviewed by a Sheriff’s Deputy.

Graham was lodged in the Thayer County jail for Theft, Possession of Drugs (suspected meth.), and is also wanted in Saline County. Ali Kroeker, 31, of Milligan and Theresa Richard, 54, of Geneva,  were both cited for theft and were released. Surrounding agencies along with Thayer Co. have received reports of similar incidents in which a cutting torch was used to gain access into pop machines and car wash coin boxes. This investigation continues. As in this case if you see something suspicious please report it.
