BELVIDERE, Neb. – A motorcycle accident northwest of Belvidere in Thayer County has left one dead.
Around 7:40 p.m. on September 29th, the Thayer County Sheriff’s Office received the call of a motorcycle accident on Highway 81. Upon arrival by officers, Edward Guinn of Kansas, appeared to have struck a deer while driving his motorcycle, causing him fall to off. A short time later a passing car struck Guinn. The driver of the car claims to have not seen Guinn due to time of day and darkness.
The driver of the car was uninjured and did not receive a citation. It is unclear whether Guinn was killed by the impact with the deer or being struck by the vehicle. It is believed that Guinn was wearing a helmet when he originally struck the deer.
