Motorcyclists collide in Broken Bow Friday

Two motorcyclists traveling together, collided Friday morning about 11:10am in Broken Bow. Police Chief Steve Scott says 51-year-old Rene Garcia, Jr. of South Carolina was driving a 2018 Harley Davidson. Sixty-nine-year-old Robert Payne of Georgia was riding a 2012 Honda. They were riding sided by side with Garcia on the left side of the lane when he signaled to turn right into a convenience store. Payne didn’t see Garcia’s signal and they collided. Payne was transported to Jennie Melham Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Garcia was uninjured. Payne’s motorcycle was totaled and Garcia’s sustained minor damage.

The Custer County Sheriff’s office assisted the Broken Bow Police Department with traffic control.
