Norfolk Motorcyclist Injured In Crash

Norfolk Motorcyclist Injured In Crash

On Sunday afternoon at about 5:20 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a motorcycle accident that sent a 42 year old Norfolk man to a Sioux City hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Michael Willard was westbound on U.S. Hwy 275 near 561st Avenue about four miles east of Norfolk when he lost control of the Harley Davidson motorcycle he was operating and it slid down the highway more than 430 feet ejecting him from the motorcycle.

Willard was transported directly from scene by Life Net medical helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Willard was wearing a helmet and speed is considered a possible factor in the accident.  Stanton Fire and Rescue and Stanton County Emergency Management assisted at the scene.
