One person injured in Kearney shooting

Kearney, Neb. — At approximately 12:23 a.m.  on Sunday,  Kearney Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 39th Street and 17th Avenue in Northwest Kearney to investigate a report of shots fired.

While investigating this report of shots fired, officers received a report from CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital that a male subject had walked into the emergency room with a single gunshot wound to his left upper arm. The 21 year old male subject told officers that this incident occurred near 39th Street and 17th Avenue in Kearney. It was reported that the suspect(s) departed northbound on 17th Avenue in a tan or gray extended cab pickup, possibly a GMC or Chevrolet.

The subject’s injuries were not life threatening and he was treated and released from the hospital.
