Victim of fiery one-vehicle rollover crash south of McCook upgraded to fair condition

McCook, Neb.– The Red Willow County Sheriff’s Office, the Nebraska State Patrol and other agencies responded to a fiery one-vehicle crash early Saturday that caused serious injuries to a person who was airlifted to a Kearney hospital. The crash occurred on Highway 83 about 7 miles south of McCook. It’s believed the vehicle was southbound at the time of the crash.

At 3:15 a.m., a passerby noticed the accident scene and removed the subject from the vehicle which became fully engulfed.

The injured driver was identified as 23 year old Casey Hardy of Danbury whose condition at CHI Health Good Hospital in Kearney has been upgraded to fair.

Firefighters from McCook Fire & Rescue, Red Willow Western Rural Fire Department and Beaver Valley went to the scene to put out the fire.
