You're being robbed...Calmly put all the money in the bag and don't freak out!

The arrest affidavit for 21-year-old Richard Blackmon- who is charged with Tuesday’s robbery of the Route 26 Mart in Scottsbluff- reveals the details that occurred at the time of the crime.

The clerk told police that she noticed Blackmon right away because he was wearing a black ski mask, and proceeded to go straight to the restroom.

Documents say he then went to the counter and put a plastic bag on the counter and told the clerk, “You’re being robbed…Calmly put all the money in the bag and don’t freak out!”

The clerk said Blackmon showed her a gun that he had in his jacket pocket, and was able to describe the gun to police.

Before he left, Blackmon reportedly asked for a pack of Marlboro Reds, took the pack, and then fled the store when another customer came into the store.

Surveillance video from Route 26 Mart and another local business helped police develop Blackmon as a suspect.

On Wednesday, police executed a search warrant on Marcus Drive in Scottsbluff and located Blackmon. Court documents say Blackmon was interview at the Police Department and admitted to the robbery. He was booked into the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center on charges of Robbery and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.

Earlier this year, Blackmon was sentenced to 90 days in jail on a conviction of Attempt of a Class 4 Felony, stemming from a traffic stop where he was caught with marijuana and a prescription pill. He had been sentenced to probation, but told his probation officer that he’d rather be jailed than adhere to the terms of his probation.
