Since the late 1970’s, Scottsbluff High School teacher Gary Largo has served as the adviser for the SHS Key Club, and today he was honored for his decades of leadership.
During an all-school assembly Wednesday morning, Derek Manley with the Scottsbluff Noon Kiwanis- who sponsors the Key Club- spoke to the crowd of students.
“As Governor-Elect for the Rocky Mountain District and member of the Scottsbluff Kiwanis Club, one of the things we try to teach in our organization is serve and leadership. Going out and serving others as a way to improve our communities one child and one community at a time.”
Manley said it’s amazing to step back and look at the decades of work Mr. Largo has put in for the Key Club.
“His unflinching dedication and promotion of the ideals of serve and leadership in Kiwanis has spanned generations, and decades of service to the youth in our community.”
Largo was presented with a plaque recognizing his years of service, and was met with a resounding round of applause from the students and staff in attendance.
