Small quake northeast of Gothenburg

Gothenburg, Neb. — The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) confirms an earthquake registering 2.7 on the Richter scale occurred Thursday shortly after 5 a.m., 20.2 miles North-Northeast of Gothenburg. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 5 kilometers. Thursday’s light quake follows a series of small quakes in the region including a 4.1 earthquake on June 29 about 35 miles from North Platte.
