Smith says pullout on Iran deal will result in better alternative

Third District Congressman Adrian Smith says President Trump’s decision to pull out of a nuclear deal with Iran will ultimately result in a better deal in the future.

When asked about concerns of United States allies that Trump has abandoned the deal, Smith said ultimately it will be a good decision.

Smith said, “There were already concerns about compliance, and so the fact that the U.S. would say we need to take another look at this is to come up ultimately  with an alternative.”

Smith says he doesn’t know how long it will take to come up with an “alternative” deal, but he believes in the end it will be better than what was agreed to by former President Obama.
