Stanton Woman Critically Injured In Crash

Stanton Woman Critically Injured In Crash

On Saturday evening just after 7:30 p.m  the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a one vehicle rollover accident that critically injured a 44 year old Stanton woman.

The accident occurred on Grandview Avenue just south of Old Hwy 8 near the Off Road Ranch, east of Norfolk when a southbound SUV driven by Mayra Martinez-De-Molina left the roadway and entered the east ditch and rolled end over end several times ejecting De-Molina out of the sunroof.

She was treated on scene by Norfolk Fire and Rescue and then flown directly to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City by LifeNet medical helicopter.

Speed appears to be a contributing factor and no restraints were in use.  Initial reports that a second person may have been ejected were fortunately found to be incorrect.

Stanton County Emergency Management and the Madison County Sheriff’s office assisted on scene.
