Kearney, Neb. — Dawson Public Power District crews report power was restored by 10  a.m. in the Cottonmill, Cedar Hills, Dove Hill area of west Kearney.  An outage  affecting about 500 homes  as a result of a vehicle hitting a pole was reported shortly after 8 a.m.

Dawson Public Power District offers this warning:   If people are at an accident scene where power lines may be close to the ground or on the ground, extreme caution is needed.  They can still be energized and should be avoided until the power company can tell you they are de-energized.  First responders should be aware of their surroundings to avoid hazards.
