A 63-year-old Scottsbluff man has died following a Tuesday afternoon vehicle versus pedestrian accident in downtown Scottsbluff.

Police say Kurt Blazek was walking eastbound across Broadway when he was struck by a vehicle that had just turned south onto Broadway from East 19th Street.

Blazek was transported to Swedish Medical Center in Colorado and was in critical condition. On Thursday, he passed away the injuries he sustained.

Scottsbluff Police say the driver of the vehicle was 31-year-old Tyson Rein of Cheyenne, Wyoming. The Scotts Bluff County Attorney’s Office says after reviewing the case, they will be filing a charge of Motor Vehicle Homicide, a Class I misdemeanor under Nebraska State Statue.  Scotts Bluff County Court will set an arraignment date in the coming weeks.
