Western Nebraska Regional Airport has rolled out a new aircraft firefighting truck, which is expected to enter into service soon.

Airport Manager Raul Aguallo told KNEB News the new truck carries 1,500 gallons of water, 200 gallons of liquid foam, and 450 pounds of dry chemical.

Aguallo said it’s a quick attack, or rapid intervention vehicle. He  said since the airport has become more noted for accepting diverted flights from Denver, the new truck along with the two fire trucks they currently have will help to facilitate that role.
