The Scottsbluff Family YMCA has a new offering this year to help out local families in need.

It’s called the Giving Tree,  and aims to help out families who may not otherwise be able to afford access to the Y.

So far in 2018, more than $100,000 in scholarships has been dispersed to 300-plus families, and the ornaments on the Giving Tree allow the public to chip in to help those scholarships continue in 2019.

Triniti Burger says people simply can come in, grab an ornament or two, and pay for the items at the front desk. The options are the $35 Youth Program ornament, $54 Monthly Family Pass, and the $20 Family Day Pass.

The Giving Tree will be set up in the front lobby of the Scottsbluff Family YMCA from now until Christmas.
