(AUDIO) Oakland-Craig Girls end GACC’s State Tournament Streak with win in C2-5 Sub-District Final

Pender-The Oakland-Craig Girls Basketball Team ended Guardian Angels Central Catholic’s 21-year consecutive State Tournament Streak by topping the Bluejays 62-43 in the C2-5 Sub-District Final from Pender Thursday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Knights led 19-14 at the end of one, and won the 2nd quarter 18-13 to take a 37-27 lead into the locker room.

Oakland-Craig won the 3rd quarter 12-8 to go up 49-35 at the end of three.

The Knights outscored the Bluejays 13-8 in the 4th quarter.

Oakland-Craig’s Dacey Nelson led all scorers with 34 points while Ashley Denton notched 9.

Marissa Hunke had a team-high 13 points for GACC while Sophia Hass added 10.

The Knights improve to 20-3 on the season and advance to Sub-State next Friday against Hartington Cedar Catholic at 6:30 p.m. at South Sioux City in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull while the Bluejays end the season at 15-9.
