(AUDIO) Thurston-Cuming County wins pitchers’ dual over Patriots

Pender-The TC Thunder defeated the GACC/Scribner-Snyder/West Point-Beemer Patriots 1-0 at home Tuesday night in High School Baseball action heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The game was scoreless until the 5th inning when Austin Roth scored the lone Thunder run on a Chris Rutar double.

The game winning run was set up by a balk call on Patriot pitcher Mitchell Peatrowksy that advanced runners to 2nd and 3rd.

Eric Schopke went the distance for Thurston-Cuming County (3-6), giving up just 2 hits in 7 innings of shutout baseball.

Peatrowksy took the loss for GACC/S-S/WPB (1-8), giving up five hits and a run over 6 innings of work.

Thurston-Cuming County hosts DC West on Thursday while the Patriots are off until Monday when they take on the Thunder again at home at noon.
