Bearcats Win Class A Title

Bearcats Win Class A Title

For the first time in school history Kearney has won a state title in boys soccer. On Tuesday night the Bearcats beat Omaha Westside 1-0 in the Class A  championship game. In the 50th minute, Carson Schwarz scored the game winning goal off a Christian Dakan corner kick. Goalie Jacob Hardy recorded his third consecutive shutout at the state tournament, as the Kearney defense did not allow a single goal throughout the tourney. Kearney finishes the year 18-2 and becomes the first team outside Omaha or Lincoln to claim a boys state title in the sport.
