Bluejay wins district individual title; Huskies win team championship

GRAND ISLAND – The Class B girls state tournament field is set.  Dealing with soggy conditions and a two hour rain delay at the B-3 Districts at Jackrabbit Run Golf Course in Grand Island, Aurora finished first with a team score of 368, beating second place York by 21 strokes. Hastings placed third, beating out Seward by 14 strokes.

Individually, Seward’s Kendra Placke placed first with a 72, Aurora’s Danica Badura came in second with a 78 and Hastings Anna Cafferty shot an 87, good for third place. Three York Dukes and Aurora Huskies finished in the top 10. Class B state golf will be held at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus Monday and Tuesday.
