Briar Cliff falls at home to College of Saint Mary

The Briar Cliff women’s volleyball team fell to the Flames of College of Saint Mary 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 19-25, 14-25) Friday night.

BC falls to 9-7 on the season and 3-4 in the GPAC while CSM moves to and 11-11 in 2018 and 1-6 in conference play.

Courtney Schafer‘s 15 kills and .522 attack percentage led the Chargers in the match. Victoria Gonzalez recorded 11 K’s and Noel Phillips had 8. Payton Robley and Makenna Freeman recorded 14 kills each for the Flames.

Setter Maureen Imrie tallied 17 assists to go with one ace serve and a team-high eight digs. Delaney Meyer recorded 23 assists and one ace for BC.  Danielle Coronado and Harlee Wagonereach had six digs and Tyra Blue took part in five blocks.

Alexis Petry and Natalie Patten shared setting duties for the Flames and had 28 and 20 assists, respectively. Robley’s 15 digs led CSM and Taylor Homes assisted on four rejections.

The Chargers will look to bounce back Saturday night when they take on Morningside at 7 p.m. in Briar Cliff’s Homecoming game.
