The Briar Cliff women’s volleyball team fell to the Bulldogs of Concordia in four sets Friday night (24-26, 25-20, 19-25, 19-25). Senior Courtney Schafer recorded her 750th career kill for the Chargers and led all players with 18 K’s in the contest.
As a team, BC earned just a .089 attack percentage with 43 kills and 32 errors on 123 attacks on the night. Schafer was followed by Victoria Gonzalez, who had nine kills. Concordia hit a .143 and Kara Stark’s 15 kills was.a team-high for the Bulldogs.
Defensively, Danielle Coronado and Brooklyn Tolliver led the Chargers with Coronado notching 11 digs and Tolliver had 10. Coronado also had two service aces. Grace Whitlaw took part in five blocks. Marissa Hoerman, Jenna Eller and Kaylie Dengel each recorded six digs for the Bulldogs and Emmie Boyd assisted on nine rejections. Dengel had three aces.
The Chargers move to 10-8 in 2018 and 4-5 in GPAC play while the Bulldogs are 13-7 and 3-7 in the conference.
Briar Cliff will play again Saturday at (9) Midland. Opening serve is set for 3 p.m.
