OMAHA, Neb. — The Creighton Volleyball team dropped five spots to 17th in the AVCA poll on Monday following a 1-1 road trip last weekend.

The Bluejays moved to 5-1 in BIG EAST play last weekend after losing at Marquette on Thursday before responding with a win on Friday at DePaul..

Creighton is 44-15 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll. The Bluejays have now been ranked in 28 all-time polls, and are one of 16 clubs to be ranked in each of the last 14 editions.

The Bluejays, who have played the nation’s third-toughest schedule according to the NCAA, have faced eight teams that are ranked in this week’s poll (No. 8 Kentucky, No. 9 Kansas, No. 14 Washington, No. 16 Purdue, No. 19 USC, No. 20 Northern Iowa, No. 22 Wichita State and No. 23 Iowa State).

Unbeaten Florida remained in the top spot with 61-of-64 first-place votes, just ahead of No. 2 Penn State and No. 3 Stanford.

Monday also marked the unveiling of the second official RPI rankings from the NCAA. Creighton is 14th in those rankings, after being eighth a week ago. Creighton is ranked 16th in the VolleyMob.com poll, down three spots from last week, while also falling four spots to 25th in the PrepVolleyball.com poll.

Creighton is home for its next four matches, a stretch that begins Friday at 7 p.m. against Butler (14-5, 4-3 BIG EAST).
