Exeter- The Exeter-Milligan Timberwolves didn’t play good hosts Tuesday night beating their guests the Giltner Hornets in both girls and boys games.
The girls game was a lopsided affair that saw Exeter-Milligan win 47-29.
The T-Wolves led every quarter but the Hornets staged a comeback in the third period.
After trailing 15-24 at the half, the Lady Hornets came out and scored eight points, and the T-Wolves only two points in the third. However EM still led by two 26-24.
The fourth quarter EM broke it open scoring 21 points to Giltner’s six.
EM was led by Kate Janski who scored 16, who scored 9 of those points from the free throw line.
Gilnter’s Aubrey Leichty countered with 15 of her own including two from downtown.
The boys game was a rematch of the CRC tournament, which left Exeter-Milligan wanting revenge. This time, the result would be different. Exeter-Milligan won 52-43.
It was a close game until the mid-way through the third quarter.
Giltner’s Dayne Hinrichs started to heat up in the first half scoring 12 of his first 15 before the break.
His fire was extinguished in the second half scoring just three points.
At the end of the first quarter both squads were tied at 11.
In the second quarter, Giltner took the lead 23-20. After the half, EM regained the lead on timely shooting, and pesky defense. They never looked back from there.
Jackson Beethe had 16 off the bench, leading the T-Wolves to the “W”.
Specer Pribyl, and Colton Bossaller were also in double figures with 12 each.
Giltner will play at Dorchester on Friday.
Exeter-Milligan will host Hampton, also on Friday.
