YORK, Neb. – Wednesday was a big day for York’s Class of 2018 athletes, as four York Dukes signed their letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at the college level.
One of those four was Karlee Seevers, who plans to continue her successful softball career at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
Seevers talks about why the Huskers were always her first choice.
She will be join in Lincoln by fellow classmate, Mayson Conner, who will become a member of Nebraska’s Track & Field Program.
A highly sought after high jumper, Conner said Nebraska was a notch above all other schools.
Another York Track & Field standout, Julia Lee, will follow in her sisters footsteps and run at the collegiate level. She signed her letter of intent to Augustana University to compete in Cross Country and Track & Field.
Lee said her signing was bittersweet.
The final signing of the day was York’s record holder for most wins in a wrestling season, Scotts Fulsos. He signed his letter to become a member of the University of Nebraska – Kearney Wrestling team.
Fulsos said the York community has motivated his success.
Last season Fulsos finished runner-up in Class B 138lb weight class. He is preparing for his senior wrestling season in which he has high aspirations to bring a State Championship back to York.
