NORFOLK – The semifinals of the boys C2-6 Subdistrict were held at Norfolk Catholic on Tuesday, and broadcast on 107.9 The Bull.
In the first game, Wakefield defeated Wisner-Pilger 47-37. The Gators cut the score to 33-31 at the end of the third quarter, but were held to just six points in the final frame as the Trojans pulled away late for the win.
Justin Pieper had 11 points to lead the Gators, while Soloman Peitz had 19 for Wakefield.
The Gators end their season at 15-10 overall.
In the second game, a strong second half propelled Howells-Dodge past Lutheran High Northeast 64-44.
The two teams played each just four days prior, with the Jaguars also winning that contest, 67-63.
The Eagles tied the first quarter score at 11-1 after a buzzer beating three points. The Jaguars went off for 17 points in the second quarter to lead 28-20 at the half.
A 36 point second half helped Howells-Dodge create separation and gain the win.
Lane Hegemann led three Howells-Dodge players in double figures with 18 points, 16 of them in the second half. Blake Sindelar added 15 points and RJ Bayer had 11. Ben Gebhart scored 14 to lead LHNE.
Howells-Dodge improves to 17-8 on the season and will meet Wakefield in the C2-6 Subdistrict championship game Thursday at 7:00.
