High school results and schedule

District track meets started yesterday across the state for Class A and Class D schools.

The D-11 meet was held in Chappell and the Morrill girls and the Crawford boys earned team titles.

Morrill captured seven first place finishes led by Jessica Harvey. They senior star won the 100 meters, long jump, and 200 meters. She finished second in the pole vault to finish up qualifying for state in all four events.

Among the other four first place finishes for Morrill was Lily Martin capturing top spots in the triple jump and the 400 meters.

The Crawford boys picked up eight event wins on their way to finishing first by a fairly wide margin yesterday.

Today’s Schedule:

  • The B-6 District Track and Field meet will be held at Ogallala. Teams competing include Gering, Scottsbluff, Sidney, Alliance, Chadron, and Gordon-Rushville.
  • The C-11 District Track and Field meet will be held at Mitchell. Teams competing there include the host Tigers, Bridgeport, Bayard, Hemingford, and Kimball.
  • Boys golf at Ogallala for Gering, Scottsbluff, and Alliance.
  • Boys golf at Crawford for Morrill and Hemingford.
  • Girls tennis for Scottsbluff and Gering at the McCook Invite.
