Broc Howard will remain the Kearney High School interim track coach. Parker Schoen, announced as the new head coach on March 5, has rescinded his acceptance of the position. “We were excited to have Mr. Schoen in the system and are confident that he would provide significant contributions to our track team and school,” said Dr. Kent Edwards, Superintendent. “Due to changing circumstances and administrative changes at our high school, he has opted not to come to Kearney Public Schools.
Schoen is certainly a loss for our district.” Broc Howard, a Kenwood Elementary teacher, will continue serving as interim head coach of the KHS boys track team. The position will be reopened at a later date. “We are confident that Mr. Howard will continue to serve our track team with integrity and we look forward to a successful season,” said Edwards. Howard was named interim head track coach in January following the resignation of Roger Mathiesen.
