Iowa State’s Enna Named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State libero Izzy Enna was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon. The award is the first of Enna’s career, Iowa State’s third of the season and the Cyclones’ 56th since the inception of the award in 2007. The next highest total in the Big 12 is Kansas with 24. Enna is the 12th different Cyclone to be named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

In Iowa State’s sweep of Texas Tech last Friday, Enna tied her career high with 19 digs against the Red Raiders. Earlier in the week against Kansas, Enna posted 11 digs. For the week, Enna’s 5.00 digs per set led the Big 12.

Enna and the Cyclones return to action on Thursday in the first round of the 2018 NIVC against Drake. First serve between ISU and the Bulldogs at Hilton Coliseum will be at 6:30 p.m.
