Minutemaids Pick Up Big District Win
Lexington beat McCook on Tuesday night-KRVN Photo Paul Pack

North Platte-Lexington used a huge first quarter on its way to a 50-25 win over McCook on Tuesday night at the B-7 Girls Subdistrict Tournament. Lexington outscored the Bison 14-1 in the first eight minutes and would never trail. The Minutemaids were led by Freshman Sarah Treffer who scored a game high 18 points with nine of those coming in the fourth quarter. Klaire Fagot chipped in with nine, while Courtney Hanson had eight. McCook was paced by Mackenzie Smith who had nine. Lexington had lost earlier this season to McCook 41-39. The Minutemaids improve to 7-18 on the season and won for the first time in post season play since 2011. The Bison saw their season come to an end at 10-11. Lexington will play top seed North Platte tonight at 6:30 and that game can be heard on KAMI Country Legends and at KRVN.com
